How Parents Will Get KPSEA Results in 2023

Pupils in grade 6 should anticipate receiving their results from the 2023 Kenya  Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) in January, which will be  dispersed among their schools. Through an online platform, the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC)  intends to make the KPSEA results available to primary schools that are both  public and private. After that, schools will download and print the results, which will be sent to  parents and candidates in certificate form, at no additional cost.

The KPSEA exams will be quietly released, in contrast to the grandiose release ceremonies for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE). The five disciplines taken by the KPSEA applicants were English, Mathematics, Kiswahili, Integrated Science and Social Studies, and Creative Arts.

Notably, the assessment lacked creative writing components such as English Composition and Kiswahili Insha, which are part of the KCPE exams, raising concerns among teachers about the omission.

While 1,282,574 candidates took part in the KPSEA, almost 1,415,315 candidates took the KCPE exams. Notably, KPSEA transcripts will be electronically marked by specialist machinery; for multiple-choice questions, this will involve the use of Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) technology. With the new equipment, scripts can be marked in batches of 100 or 200 sheets, allowing for speedier processing.

Basic Education Prioritizing KCPE exam marking is crucial, according to Dr. Belio Kipsang, in order  to guarantee prompt results for Form 1 admission in January. The KPSEA results will be released as a report on January 16, 2023. The reports are available at the individual, school-specific, and national levels. The national report provides educational stakeholders  with information on problems that need to be addressed.

The results will not be used for placement but rather to monitor learner progress. The national report will be shared with the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD).
