Chris Msando’s mother dies
Maria Msando, the mother of slain Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) ICT manager Chris Msando, has passed away. Governor James Orengo of Siaya acknowledged her passing and expressed his sympathies to her family.
“Please accept my sincere sympathies for the loss of their grandmother Mama Maria Msando, who was the family of the late IEBC ICT Manager Chris Msando. “Mama had a fascinating personality and the capacity to sincerely care about others, which allowed her to develop numerous enduring relationships. Orengo expressed his condolences and wished her soul “Eternal Peace.”
The news is devastating to the family of Msando, a former ICT manager who was discovered dead only days before the 2017 elections. She died from multiple organ failure, according to her eldest son Peter Msando, who talked to the media. He also said that she had been hospitalized for high blood pressure and a sugar issue.
He claimed that on Thursday, at around 1:00 pm, his mother fell into a coma and was taken to Avenue Hospital in Kisumu. She was then admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where she remained until Friday morning before passing away. He emphasized that she got sick after losing her son, who was killed one week before the elections. Msando, who oversaw the IEBC’s computerized voting system, was found in Kikuyu Kiambu County’s thicket. Before his death, the ICT chief had only been in his position for two months.
His tormented body was found next to Carol Ngumbu’s, a young woman who was 21 years old. His mother requested justice at the time, pleading with the government to apprehend his killers. She continued by saying that she didn’t want to pass away before learning what had happened to Msando. “I’m concerned. Since July, I have not been eating well. My son, who used to look after me, isn’t here, so I’m unwell. “Now, I have only one plea to the Jubilee government, tell me who killed my son and why,” she stated at the time.
