Kenyan youth who took part in the recently finished recruitment process for the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) may now see if they made the list of selected applicants. The list of 1,606 applicants for positions as tradesmen and women or specialized officers was released by KDF on Friday.
For the job of specialist officers, 347 people were chosen.Also 1,259 people were considered for the tradesmen and women role. The military forces also disclosed the times and places of the interviews with the selected candidates.
The disclosure follows Vice Chief of Defense Forces Lieutenant John Mwangi’s vow to make the list public soon after the recruitment drive’s conclusion on Friday, September 8.
At the time, he said, “We would like to congratulate all the young people who came out for the recruitment drive. Your presence was a strong indication of your patriotism and desire to serve our great Republic.
“The Ministry of Defence congratulates all of the winners and invites you to join us in fulfilling the constitutional mandate of the KDF as a whole. We commend those who were unsuccessful for their bravery and spirit of competition and urge them to persevere in their search for chances to serve our nation.
The defense forces relaxed the strict criterion of stained teeth in the end of August and began a recruitment drive throughout 374 centers.
How to Verify Participants in the recruiting campaign were advised to navigate to the downloads area of the Ministry of Defence website at www.mod.go.ke.
They can download the entire list while still on the page to access it. Alternatively, applicants can get the link leading them to the list of the shortlisted candidates by going to verified KDF social media profiles.
Tradespeople and women were instructed to go to Embakasi Garrison in Nairobi on September 25, 2023, starting at 8 a.m. for interviews. On the other side, specialist officers will attend interviews at the KMA in Lanet, Nakuru County, starting at 8:00 am. According to the statement, “All candidates must bring with them original National Identity (ID) Card and four copies of their academic, professional, curriculum vitae, and any other testimonials.”
“During the interview session, food and lodging will be available. Candidates who don’t get the job will be paid for their travel costs in accordance with KDF regulations.
