4 Men in Ksh 94M Theft Arrested
Four individuals were detained by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Saturday on suspicion of carrying out the Ksh94 million theft in Nairobi’s Central Business District.
The funds were intended to be taken to a nearby bank in the Nairobi Central Business District. They came from a supermarket’s weekend sales.
The car used in the crime was traced to Njiru in Kayole, and the owner of the vehicle was identified as a suspect who was taken into custody in Rongai. According to a police report, two more suspects were apprehended in Njiru as they were attempting to alter the car to hide its identify.
A fourth suspect was apprehended at his rental home as the investigation was extended to the area of Kasarani’s Thika Road Mall (TRM).Out of the Ksh94 million that had been taken, the police were able to retrieve Ksh9.1 million during this operation.
Furthermore, the discovery of an empty cash box in the woodland next to Karen’s Gataka market marked a significant advancement in the case. It is thought that the suspects divided up the pilfered money at this place.
A portion of the police report stated, “Crime Scene and Investigation (CSI) Nairobi Region has processed all the scenes.” Detectives from the Capitol Hill Police Station say that attempts are being made to retrieve the leftover cash that was pilfered.
The two security firm employees made national news when they took Ksh94 million and vanished before the truck was found at Dafarm in South C, where they had left it. This is when the arrests occurred.
Police reports state that the two took off with the cash after the corporation assigned them to transfer it. When they did not appear, Administration Police (AP), who were meant to accompany them, sounded the alarm.
