Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has issued a seven-day ultimatum to DCI officers and Chiefs from Marakwet, Pokot, and Baringo to reduce instability in the region.This comes after claims that bandits in the area have slain at least eleven people, including a relative of Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen.
The CS handed along a list of 20 suspects to the DCI officers and Chiefs, who were to be detained or punished within seven days.When he was touring the region, he obtained the list from elders in Marakwet and Pokot.

Jeptoo had stated that no KDF soldiers from the Marakwet and Pokot communities should be stationed in the area. Duale grabbed the Woman Representative’s microphone and warned her not to introduce tribalism into the military.
