Several School Heads Set To Be Replaced
TSC Is Planning To Replace Several School Heads. The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) will replace the teachers who were promoted but are currently working as administrators.
Teachers who currently hold senior master’s, headteacher, deputy principal, deputy headteacher, senior teacher, and headteacher positions but were not promoted will therefore immediately lose them.
The Commission published an advertisement for 36,505 promotion opportunities in September of last year. TSC has published a 724-page list of the biographies of their successful teachers.
TSC has recently begun to send promotion letters to instructors who show success through their county directors.
Between January and March of this year, the Commission appointed a number of deputies to headteacher and principal positions in various elementary and secondary schools.
This took place while TSC was dealing with a sizable retirement of head teachers and principals.
TSC also instructed county and sub-county directors to make sure that there are no openings in schools.
TSC held teacher promotion interviews in December and January.
Interviews for elementary school teachers took place in December 2023. Interviews for post-primary school teachers took place in January 2024.
Approximately 150.000 educators were included in the short list.
TSC will send all 36,505 successful teachers with promotional letters, and they will be expected to submit five Chapter 6 documents.
The five documents listed below are mandatory in accordance with Chapter 6 of the Kenyan Constitution on ‘Leadership and Integrity’.
- Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) cost 1,050/-
- Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) cost Free
- Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) cost Free
- Clearance from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) cost Free
- A Clearance Certificate from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) cost 2,200/-
TSC has hinted that headteachers and deputy mayors will be assigned to positions outside of their own Sub-counties.
