Yoweri Museveni of Uganda met with President William Ruto and Azimio La Umoja Coalition leader Raila Odinga on Monday at his country residence in Kisozi. Images of the two political adversaries with canes in hand and Museveni’s renowned Ankole cows grazing in the backdrop depicted them talking with Uganda’s leader.

In summarizing their discussions, President Ruto stated that the main topics that both Kenya and Uganda were concerned about were energy and petroleum.

Meeting the President at his Kisozi rural house in Uganda was a treat. President Ruto stated, “We talked about important subjects like energy and petroleum that affect our two countries.

“Kenya and Uganda are committed to the deepening of the long-established diplomatic and economic ties between our two countries.”

President Ruto claims that the relationship between Kenya and Uganda is a component of a bigger scheme that will get the seven member states of the East African Community closer to creating the East African Political Federation.

He said that Raila’s candidacy for chairman of the Africa Union Commission was also discussed during the meeting. In a post on social media, President Museveni greeted the two leaders and said that their conversations centered on problems that both nations share.

“It gave me great pleasure to meet President Ruto and Rt. Hon. Odinga at my Kisozi property this afternoon. We spoke about matters of shared interest between our two nations. “They are welcome,” Museveni remarked.
