KNEC Provides an Update on KCPE and KCSE Certificate Collection
All students who took the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) were instructed by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) to pick up their certificates from their individual schools on Saturday.
The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates for 2023 were also asked by KNEC to pick up their result slips.
“The 2022 KCPE certificates and 2023 KCSE result slips have been sent to all schools that presented candidates for the examinations,” read part of a statement by KNEC.
“Candidates and parents or guardians are therefore encouraged to visit their schools and collect the documents.”
KNEC added that the institutions and candidates had 30 days to raise any grievances upon the issuance of the certificates.
“Queries about examination results/certificates must be made through the Heads of Schools and the Sub County Directors of Education,” read the statement by the examination body.
“The appeal documents must reach KNEC not later than 30 days after the release of the examination results/certificates, after which the query shall attract a penalty.”
After taking the 2022 KCPE exam, 1,230,588 candidates were declared eligible to move on to Form One, in accordance with the government’s 100% transition program.
In the meantime, 899,453 applicants took the 2023 KCSE exams, which is a 2% rise above the 2022 total.
Teachers have been instructed by the exam authority to make sure that all qualified applicants register by March 29, 2024.
“KNEC directed that all examination centers log onto a platform for a particular examination and enter the candidates’ details using the school registration password.”
