KUCCPS Issues Update to Students Paying for TVET Applications
On Thursday, the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) released an explanation of the payment procedure for applicants to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses. The organization issued a warning against using mobile money codes as a form of payment and stressed that candidates should only submit their applications using the official KUCCPS account number.
While the statement did not specify the rationale behind this directive, it stressed the importance of utilizing the provided account number for TVET application payments.
Applications for TVET courses were recently started by KUCCPS, focusing on students who completed their KCSE (Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education) exams between 2000 and 2022. In order to facilitate the eventual placement of these applicants in various institutions, the organization set a deadline of January 2024 for the submission of their applications. Additionally, when the application portal was released by KUCCPS, candidates who took the 2023 KCSE exams were given the chance to apply.
494,317 pupils received a D+ or lower on the 2023 KCSE, allowing them to enroll in certificate or diploma programs at TVETs and artisan schools. Ezekiel Machogu, the cabinet secretary for education, has long pushed for students to take advantage of TVETs’ short courses to get practical skills and emphasize the possibility of working for themselves.
How to Apply
The application procedure for those looking for a second opportunity entails visiting the students.kuccps.net student portal. The instructions for applicants are to fill out the application, choose their desired course from the possibilities offered by government institutions, rank their choices, and submit it. The next action is to adhere to the payment guidelines that KUCCPS has supplied.
