Approved KUCCPS Certificate Courses for D+ & Below

Students who completed the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with D+ and D (simple) grades in 2024 are now qualified to enroll in a range of certificate programs. Many Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutes and colleges that have been approved by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) offer these courses.

A thorough list of KUCCPS-approved courses for students who finished their KCSE in 2023 has been created by us. Course topics include business and associated subjects, building and construction, hairdressing and beauty therapy, library and information science, clothing, fashion, and textiles, engineering technology, and information technology.

Business and Related Courses

Several Kenyan colleges and TVET institutes provide a wide range of recognized  business and related courses. A number of popular options that are recommended by KUCCPS are Supply Chain  Management, Sales and Marketing, Accounting, Banking and Finance, and  Entrepreneurship.

Other options comprise Business Administration, Credit Management, Human Resources Management, Cooperative Management, and Project Management. Noteworthy institutions offering these courses include Belgut, Bushiangala, Riragia, Aldai, Bunyala, Gatundu South, and Gitwebe TVET institutions.

Building and Construction

Certificate courses in this category comprise Construction Technology,  Construction Foreperson, Concrete Construction, Land Survey, and Road  Construction, among  others. Eldoret Polytechnic is one of the top universities in this discipline; other training  facilities that offer similar courses include Karen, Katine, Konoin, Ol’lessos, Kisumu,  Kitale, Meru, Sigalagala, and Bungoma polytechnics.

Engineering Technology

For students who missed out on degree and diploma courses, there are 99 KUCCPS-approved certificate courses in the engineering sector. Options range from Agricultural Engineering to Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electronic Engineering. Polytechnics like Eldoret, Kisii, Kisumu, Kitale, Nyeri, and Sigalagala offer these courses, and students can also apply to TVET institutions like Weru, Webuye, Turbo, Tigania East, Shamberembere, Runyenjes, and Ugunja technical and vocational colleges.

Information Technology (IT)

Courses in this category include Computer Programming, Information Communication and Technology (ICT), and Computer Science. Technical Training Institutes like Ahmed Shahame Mwidani, Aldai, Bureti, and Coast Institute of Technology offer these programs. The courses are also available in TVET institutions such as Eldama Ravine, Chamasiri, Chepsirei, Butula, Bunyala, and Bureti.

Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy

With a minimum KCSE grade of D, students can apply for courses in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy in various TVET institutions across Kenya, including Kakrao, Kandara, Kasarani, Kendege, Kieni, Kipsoen, Kiptaragon, Kitutu Masaba, Lodwar, Limuru, Mathioya, Mbeere North, Molo, Mwala, Nachu, Nuu, and Okame TVET institutions.

Library and Information Science

Students with a mean grade of D and higher can apply for a Certificate in  Information Science in institutions such as Belgut, Ebukanga, Eldama Ravine,  Kajiado West,  Keriio Valley, Kipkabus, Lodwar, and Masinga. In addition, Eldoret, Meru, Sigalagala, Bungoma Polytechnics, and the previously  mentioned establishments provide a Certificate in Library Archives and Information  Management.

Clothing, Fashion and Textile

Institutions such as Baringo Technical College, Belgut TVET, Eldoret Polytechnic, Emining Technical Training Institute, Friends College Kaimosi, and Keroka Technical Training Institute provide certificates in Clothing Technology, Fashion Design, Tailoring, and Dressmaking.
