Twelve requirements have been listed by the Ministry of Labor for Kenyans to be eligible for the nursing positions that President William Ruto obtained in Saudi Arabia.The Ministry reaffirmed in a notification dated Tuesday that young people in the nation with certificates, diplomas, and degrees in nursing are the target audience for the two-year positions.
For starters, the Ministry clarified that the first round of recruitment targets Kenyans who are female. Applicants must also be Kenyan citizens and be aged between 22 to 35 years.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and the Government of Kenya are working together to improve regular, safe, and fruitful labor movement between their two nations. Through a number of KSA-based organizations, this effort has made it possible for thousands of Kenyans to find employment in a variety of economic sectors, and it has demonstrated a readiness to bring on more Kenyan healthcare professionals.
“Given the above, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection requests applications from qualified Kenyans for employment in the KSA as General Nurses and Personal Assistant/Health Care Assistant professionals,” according to a portion of the announcement.
On the other hand, qualified applicants also need to have a police clearance certificate and be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya.It is assumed that individuals with degrees will have a minimum of two years of work experience, while those with certificates should have at least one year.
Diploma holders do not required to have any prior experience because the target audience consists of recent graduates.In addition, candidates must possess a valid Kenyan passport, be medically healthy, and speak English fluently.
“Applicants must have valid prometric results; If not, the same can be taken either in Kenya OR KSA (Prometric test cost to be deducted from the employee’s salary in 3 instalments).
“Dataflow verification report for the education certificate and Nursing Council License or latest employment certificate is mandatory,” read the notice in part.
Prometric tests are online tests that test applicants on their expertise in the field i.e. medicine
Benefits
The chosen candidates will need to put in eight hours a day of labor, with overtime paid in compliance with Saudi Arabian regulations.A round-trip airline ticket will also be given to each candidate.The stated wage ranges for nurses with varying educational backgrounds are Ksh92,000 for certificate holders, Ksh125,000 for diploma holders, and Ksh146,000 for degree holders.
