Man Died in Fire
Muragara hamlet in Kirinyaga is in a sad mood following the death of a disabled man who was set on fire inside his home.
Joseph Ndei, 62, was the victim of a fire that started at around 10:00 p.m. on Saturday night at his home.
Paul Wachira Mugo, a resident of Muragara, stated that since it was occurring twice, the incident might have been an arson attack.
Ndei, who was living alone, suffered severe burns since his neighbors were unable to get him out of the house in time. According to his neighbor Christine Wanjiru, “the residents who noticed the house which was already in flames responded immediately, but their attempts to rescue the man in his wooden house were futile.” Moses Koskei, the commander of Ndia sub-county police, confirmed the occurrence and stated that the fire’s source is yet unknown.
“We have taken his remains to Kerugoya Referral Hospital waiting postmortem as police launch investigations to establish what caused the fire,” Koskei stated.
