Goldmyne Television Staff, Adishi ,Hospitalised For Kidney Failure
Ambrose Adishi, a worker at Goldmyne TV, a Nigerian television station, has been hospitalized for renal failure for almost three years. He has reached out to his company, asking for financial assistance to undergo a kidney transplant.
Adishi claimed that before becoming ill, he made N50,000 a month working for Goldmyne TV for almost four years as a cameraman and leader of the camera unit.
He informed the source that although he need N14 million for the kidney transplant, which he said was nearing the end of its life, Otunba Rufai, the organization’s managing director and chief executive officer, had given him N50,000 when he was first ill.
He added that despite the years of valuable contributions he had given to Goldmyne TV, Rufai and the management no longer gave a damn whether he was alive or not, even though he was not criticizing his employer for leaving him during his lowest point.
Adishi, who bemoaned the challenges he had encountered in obtaining financial assistance for his medical care, made a desperate plea to Goldmyne TV’s MD and management to act quickly to save his life.
Adishi stated over the phone with the source, “I work for Goldmyne TV as a cameraman, but I do more than just that—I also present shows. I became ill with renal failure while I was employed. I uploaded it to the internet, and others soon followed.
“Goldmyne even attempted to post it, but failed to disclose that I work for them. I was in the third stage of renal failure at the time, so I raised some money to pay for my medical fees.
“Now, December will mark three years since my illness began, and I’m nearing the end of my kidney failure. However, while people are talking about my illness and mentioning that I work as a cameraman for Goldmyne TV, the company has asked them to take down their names to avoid giving the impression that they have abandoned their employees.
“I’m not contacting Goldmyne to malign their reputation; rather, I’m requesting that they lend me any assistance that they can. My legs hurt so much right now that I’m unable to even walk.
“I attempted to get in touch with Otunba Rufai, the company’s owner, but he just paid me N50,000 and then stopped being concerned about me. He once blocked me as well. I’m not criticizing you, though.
I beg you, Goldmyne, to take a look at my situation. “I’m not battling with Goldmyne. I need N14 million, but even if Goldmyne can raise just N1 million to help me, that will still be an increase in what I already have.
But even before I became ill, Goldmyne had forgotten about me and had not even paid my wage. I am not, however, requesting a raise or criticizing the business. I am requesting assistance from Otumba Rufai, the CEO of Goldmyne TV, and that is it.
