KUPPET Blames MPS For Ignoring Serious Teachers’ Issues
Teachers, via their KUPPET union, have accused members of the National Assembly of ignoring their problems, particularly with regard to the many difficulties they face as workers.
The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (Kuppet) holds parliamentarians accountable for their alleged intentional avoidance of addressing issues that impact public servants.
The Kenyan parliament, according to KUPPET Secretary General Akello Misori, is highly dysfunctional since it cannot address issues that affect workers. For example, some lawmakers abstain from important debates in parliament.
According to Misori, there are a number of issues that teachers face, some of which date back to when they were first brought before parliament.
Misori went on to say that the union has noticed lawmakers skirting the issues that teachers have brought up for discussion and failing to investigate them.
Additionally, he disclosed that the legislature had previously requested that teachers submit a survey in support of their assertions. when a department within the house handles the matters’ research.
Delay in promotion is one of the problems that teachers are currently facing, and KUPPET has reported these issues to the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Mr. Misori assured teachers that the Kuppet union has not let its members down and that it will keep running its operations and fighting for the improvement of teachers.
