KUCCPS 2024 Application; How to Navigate the Portal
In response to the surge of worries expressed by parents over the malfunctioning portal, the Kenya University and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has released a statement.KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr. Agnes Wahome, said that the heavy intake of students was the reason for the system jams on Friday and Saturday after the portal opened on Thursday, February 8.
But in order to lessen the strain on the system’s database, KUCCPS diverted the data.Regarding the possibility of an extension, Dr. Wahome emphasized that the placement body would keep an eye on the system’s functionality for the final seven days. The current deadline is scheduled for February 20th, Tuesday.
“The system was jammed on Friday and Saturday due to the influx. We have redirected dome information to a downloadable document to ease the demand on the database. This has since improved the speed and we will continue monitoring to determine whether we will extend the application period,” she noted.According to the KUCCPS CEO, the site experiences over 12,000 users every minute, with the majority using mobile devices.
Despite the general apprehension, the placement organization also provided a thorough explanation of how to use and navigate the application online.
Here is the step-by-step process:

Before you move to the next step, note down the Programme Codes for all the courses that you intend to apply for.
Back to the portal, on the menu bar, click “Application/Revision”. You will see either one or two forms for submitting the programme codes at different levels (Degree only or Degree and Diploma or Diploma and Certificate or Certificate and Artisan or Artisan only).
Enter the program codes you already wrote down in the appropriate field. (You won’t be able to copy and paste the program codes to reduce errors.) The system will be “Fetching Data” and “Checking Requirements” while you write the codes.Give these procedures time to finish up before submitting.
The system will show the name of each program under the corresponding codes after gathering data and verifying requirements, and it will also show whether the student satisfies the minimum requirements.Once all program data has been retrieved and shown, press “Submit.” Payment instructions will be displayed in a pop-up box.
Click “HERE” on the pop-up notification to make the specified payment. A payment page will open in a new tab on the system. Choose your preferred payment option and adhere to the guidelines.Use the Government eCitizen pay bill number 222222 to make payments using the mobile money option by following the instructions provided. Pay the specified money (Ksh1,500) and enter the account number that has been issued. You will receive a confirmation SMS after making your payment.
Return to the application window and click “Submit” after entering the account number in the “Payment REF” slot.Allow a few seconds for the system to notify you that the application was successful.
If you make a mistake, go through the steps again without making a payment. Rather, enter the account number from the earlier payment once more and hit submit.
