Following their fall in the Daraja Moja section of the Kisii-Keroka highway by a pickup transporting building supplies, two students from Kisii National Polytechnic passed away on Friday. The two females were negotiating a fare with a boda boda rider by the side of the road when the Toyota Hilux pickup’s brakes failed on the way to the Jogoo area.

An eyewitness claimed that the truck swerved to avoid other cars on the route, which was reportedly impassable due to potholes. “We call upon the government to try and rectify this road since there are a lot of students using it to access their schools,” a witness said.
