How to Make NSSF Application Using Mobile Phone

Kenyans on salaries will have to make greater contributions to the National Social  Security Fund (NSSF) as a result of the government’s recent decision to impose the  recently increased NSSF deductions on all workers and employers.

Kenyans will pay NSSF between Ksh420 and Ksh1740 for the payroll for February.

According to the government, all salaried individuals must make contributions to NSSF every month and an employer who fails to deduct and submit employee contributions commits an offence and shall be liable to a fine not exceeding Ksh50,000.

Here is a step-by-step procedure on how to register on the NSSF platform just from the comfort of your phone.

Registration Steps

Install the NSSF Application by downloading it from Google Play or App Store. 

Enter your chosen username and password in the designated login fields. You will receive a notification saying “Login Saved” after clicking the save button,  which indicates that the offline login was successfully created. To return to the app, enter your username and password. On the menu area, select the “Members” and “Employers” categories. To access the employers’ form, select the “Employers” category.

Press the button “Add New Employer” then enter your Employer Number, e-services user name, and e-services password.

The next step involves adding employees; by pressing the “Add new employee” button. After keying in the details, you will be required to verify the information provided. 

This is through the “Verify Employees” button where you enter the employer e-Services user name and e-Services password then press the ‘Verify Employees button,” you will receive a confirmation message that the employees’ verification has been successful.

You will then be required to make submissions, by creating a submission menu and filling various tiers, for instance, tier 1, tier 2, and tier 3 and select contribution month and year.

Click make payments by paying via mobile money. Press ‘Pay’, enter your mobile number, and press “OK”, enter your service PIN or press 0 to set up a new one.

After receiving notification that the amount you wish to pay will be taken out  of your mobile money account, you can choose to “Decline” or “Accept.”

A specific amount has been sent to the National Social Security Fund to account  16* ********, which is the UPN (Unique Payment Number) of the return you filed.  This  information is from your mobile money account; additionally, you will receive  a  UPN from the NSSF confirming the payment’s receipt.

After completing the registration process, you can view the entire statement and  download it for further use.
