KUCCPS Deadline Application for 2000-2022 KCSE students
On Tuesday, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) schools were able to submit applications for placement through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS).
The Placement Body declared on social media that the application period would not conclude on January 2, 2024, as previously thought, but rather extend until January 12, 2024.
The program provides a second chance for individuals who sat the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) from 2000 to 2022 to hone their skills through the government-sponsored program.
“Applicants may visit any public TVET institution across the country for assistance,” the statement read in part.
Students can apply for artisan certificate courses through the TVET program with a minimum KCSE grade of E, while those who want to take craft certificate courses need have a mean grade of D or above.
Conversely, applicants for diploma programs need to have a mean grade of C-(minus) or higher.
How to Apply
All applications can be done online through the student’s portal; students.kuccps.net
One is required to log in using their credentials ie KCSE index number, KCSE year and password.
(For a new applicant, one is advised to use their birth certificate number or KCSE index number.)
Choose four courses you want to take and your preferred government institution after logging in.
Sort them according to importance, with the first option being the most desired and the last option being the least. Click “Submit” when finished.
TVET programs aim to provide students with information and skills relevant to the workplace.
TVET colleges were picked by 9,673 students who met the requirements for degrees, according to a 2023 announcement by Education CS Ezekiel Machogu.
This demonstrated the value of technical and vocational education, which attempts to offer skilled workers to the labor market.
Who is supposed to apply
- KCSE class of 2022 – to apply for degree, diploma, craft certificate and artisan courses
- KCSE class of 2021 and previous years (back to 2000) – to apply for diploma, craft certificate and artisan courses (must not have been placed by KUCCPS before)
