KNEC Releases 2023 KPSEA Grade 6 Results

The results of the 2023 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) were made public on Friday, January 19, by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).Nonetheless, headteachers who possess login credentials for the KNEC CBA portal will provide the results to parents and other relevant parties.

KNEC officials attested to the fact that the results were made available online per Education CS Ezekiel Machogu’s instruction. One of the officials said, “We are releasing a notice this afternoon to ask parents to check with their schools.”

Headteachers and parents who spoke to us also confirmed the same. “KPSEA Assessment Reports have been uploaded on the KNEC CBA portal. We can now download them. We will release results for individual learners and the overall school performance,” a headteacher told parents via a WhatsApp group.

“The results slips are presently being downloaded by the head teacher. We will let you know how to obtain your results slips,” a different headteacher sent a message to parents. However, on Monday, January 15, four days after the students reported to their individual schools, the results were made public. The first pupils to take the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) were Grade 6 students who advanced to Grade 7.

Speaking on January 14 at Murang’a County Education Day, CS Ezekiel Machogu instructed teachers to let kids enroll in junior secondary schools (JSS) prior to the results being announced. In addition, students who were unable to afford new uniforms were urged to report with their Grade 6 peers as they proceeded with the transition.

Additionally, head teachers were instructed to charge the agreed-upon school costs and to stop making parents pay additional expenses. According to Machogu, “all 1,282,574 candidates who took the 2023 Kenya  Primary Schools Education Assessment will be permitted to enroll in Grade 7 at  the Junior Secondary Schools run by the primary schools where they completed  Grades 1-6.”

“Grade 7 learners be allowed to attend school in uniforms that they used while in  Grade 6 in 2023 as parents and guardians make efforts to buy new outfits for the  JSS,” he stated.
