The Embakasi Garrison saw a large influx of former National Youth Service officers on Monday, many of whom were hoping to join the Kenya Defense Forces.On September 16, the KDF released the shortlist of prospective Specialist Officer Cadets and Tradesmen, along with the recruitment announcement.Videos posted online demonstrated the large number of former NYS officers who flocked to the Embakasi Garrison to compete for the few open spots in the disciplined forces.

The KDF has chosen 1,606 individuals to join the organization as either specialized officers or tradespeople.They include 1,259 aspiring tradespeople as well as 347 those geared toward serving as specialist officers.Visit www.mod.go.ke and go to the downloads area to access the full list to see if one made the shortlist.On September 17, 2023, the Daily Nation and Standard newspapers also revealed the shortlist.

The shortlisted candidates must appear for interviews at the designated recruitment centers onThe Kenya Defence Forces recruitment process is free to all qualified candidates,  all candidates are reminded. The general public is advised to refrain from engaging in recruitment malpractices  and is urged to report any such malpractices to the local police station or military  base, as well as by calling hotline numbers 0726419709 or 0726419706, according  to the KDF. the dates specified in the advertisement, according to KDF.Tradespeople and women will be interviewed on September 25, 2023, at the Embakasi Garrison in Nairobi, beginning at 8 a.m.The recruiting for constables, according to the force, will begin on November 27, 2023.
