KUCCPS Issues Deadline for First Year Students Seeking Transfer
The inter-institution transfer portal will stop at midnight on Thursday, July 4, according to a statement released by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS).
The placement body advised first-year students receiving government financing to seize the chance to switch to the university of their choosing in their notice.
First-year students were informed, “If you were placed to a university or TVET institution recently and wish to transfer, apply via students.kuccps.net.”
KUCCPS explained that the window had been opened to ensure that all students had the opportunity to study their desired courses in their preferred institutions.
Notably, for your transfer request to go through, it must be endorsed by both the releasing and receiving institutions.
This means, that if you are transferring from Kenyatta University to the University of Nairobi, KUCCPS cannot process the request if one of the two institutions declines to approve.
Furthermore, if you do not have the necessary cluster points for your desired course, KUCCPS will not approve the transfer request.
Each student’s cluster points, the cluster points needed for their specific courses, and the topic requirements are displayed on the KUCCPS portal.
The placement body continued, “Those who applied for the intake and have not secured a course are invited to choose other KMTC courses via the portal.”
July 12 is the deadline for KMTC’s second revision, which is only open to applicants who were not placed in the first round.
