The Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu should be removed from the Education docket, according to the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers Trans Nzoia branch.
President William Ruto was encouraged by branch secretary Furaha Lusweti to think about reorganizing the ministry, accusing Machogu of being the cause of the difficulties plaguing the employees.
“There are increasing worries about the educational system in Kenya. Significant issues facing the industry need for immediate attention, according to Lusweti.
He cited challenges faced by the newly implemented Junior Secondary School (JSS) programme. The programme’s integration into primary schools, according to Lusweti has resulted in a shortage of resources.
“The domicile of JSS in primary schools without adequate classrooms, laboratories, workshops and teachers, has left our students in a difficult situation that could ruin their future,” Lusweti lamented.
He claimed it is a challenging endeavor to cover 12 subjects in all with only two JSS interns and minimal resources. He worries that the circumstances might jeopardize the standard of instruction for pupils in grades 7 and 8.
A generation as a whole can suffer, according to Lusweti.
