Regarding students traveling for the Easter break, schools should follow the rules provided by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).

In a statement released on Friday, March 29, the NTSA instructed schools planning to utilize its buses to transport students to make sure they have the necessary paperwork before starting the exercise.

A Road Service License (RSL) and an inspection certificate must be in good standing in order for schools to operate.Nevertheless, just like public service vehicles (PSVs), school buses must also have a speed limitation installed.

In a similar vein, the schools were instructed to make sure that the drivers they use  have both a valid PSV badge and the necessary driver’s license. “Remember that school transportation, like all Public Service Vehicles (PSVs), needs  to have the items as our kids head home for the holidays.”

A portion of the statement said, “We urge all schools to ensure compliance with  traffic rules and regulations.” As the first term of classes draws to a close, the NTSA issued the statement. The Ministry of Education produced a school calendar, and it states that April 5 is  when schools will be closed. Conversely, on Tuesday, April 29, schools will resume for the second term.

Furthermore, because of the recent spike in traffic accidents, the government has stepped up its crackdowns on the nation’s main thoroughfares at the same time as the instruction.

More than ten students, including those attending universities, have died in school bus accidents in recent weeks. Given that some Kenyans are traveling to be with their family during this time, drivers have been asked to observe traffic laws during the Easter celebrations.
