Similar scene happened during a school trip about a month ago. A Form Three student drowned on Thursday during a swimming expedition that  was scheduled for prefects and high-achieving pupils from Karia Secondary School in Kirinyaga County. The event  turned sad. The school had transported 17 kids, including the deceased Eric Muconge, to a  nearby hotel for the excursion. John Torori, the Central Sub-County Police Commander, confirmed the occurrence to Citizen Digital, stating  that the drowning happened at approximately 4 p.m.

First responders promptly rushed the high school student to a nearby hospital for medical attention but their efforts eventually proved futile.

“I was informed that the school administration had taken the top students and prefects to a hotel, so I was shocked to learn that Eric had left.” Hannah Wanjiru Muconge, the mother of the deceased, informed Citizen Digital that her son Eric was a Form Three prefect.Since then, the deceased’s family has questioned how the entire scenario happened.

“We are curious about what transpired, as we were taken aback upon discovering Eric’s lifeless corpse in a nearby private hospital, even though we had anticipated his remains to be at Kerugoya Hospital.” Muconge’s uncle Paul Wanyoike stated, “We want to know why detectives have been told to meet at Kerugoya Police Station.”
