Celebrations as schools in Kisii shine again

The provisional examination results, which were revealed this Monday, show that Kisii’s educational institutions have once again proven their intellectual competence. The pupils from Rigena Boys stood out for their outstanding performance, as 17 of them received A grades with a mean score of 9.59. Notably, just 115 candidates were enrolled in the Sub-County school.

Several other schools exhibited positive shifts in their scores, signifying an overall improvement. However, some traditionally acclaimed institutions experienced negative deviations. Kisii School, for instance, saw 24 students attain A grades, contributing to a mean score of 8.92. Rodney Mokaya led the cohort with an outstanding A score of 84 points, while 84 peers secured A minuses. Remarkably, 113 students achieved B pluses, and a total of 565 candidates participated in the examination.

Sironga Girls in Nyamira reported success with seven candidates achieving A minuses and others securing Bs, resulting in an impressive 89 percent pass rate. The school’s mean score rose from 7.6 to 8.02, and Principal Eva Odhiambo credited this improvement to divine intervention and the collaborative efforts of the staff. Furthermore, 461 students from the school successfully earned university entrance qualifications.

Cardinal Otunga in Kisii displayed promising results with three students scoring As, and there were expectations of an enhanced overall score upon final tallying. Riokindo Boys, also in Kisii, presented a mixed performance, recording 15 B pluses, 177 Bs, and 188 B minuses, resulting in a mean score of 7.611.

Thirteen candidates received A minus grades, while one candidate at Moi High School Gesusu received an A minus. The general mean score showed a positive variation for the institution, rising from 7.05 on the previous test to 7.09. These outcomes demonstrate Kisii’s continued dedication to academic success in the school system.
