JSS Interns Plans To Paralyze Learning If Not Confirmed

The introduction of CBC significantly altered the learning environment in terms  of both content and tactics. Due to this, the government was compelled to hire qualified educators to staff  junior secondary schools located on primary grounds. About 40,000 JSS teachers have been hired over the past two years, with 99% of  them on internship contracts.

The first group’s contract was set to expire on December 31, 2018, after which it was either confirmed or extended. They were promised permanent status and pensions by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) as soon as their contract expired, but things don’t seem to be going as planned after senior authorities intimated that they would wait until 2025.

Teachers around the nation reacted negatively to this revelation, sparking a lot of  discussion on social media. Leading by their informants, JOSEE JOE, Mutai Mtandao, Duke Joseph, and others,  the teachers shared the challenges they were facing at junior high school. As per their Facebook post, they are issuing a warning that they might not be able  to return to school in January if Tsc does not confirm the first batch.

According to our investigations, the bulk of these interns have many difficulties in  those settings. Having previously worked as BOM instructors in secondary schools,  they discovered that it is more difficult to survive on primary school grounds again  with low compensation. They committed to keeping posting and bringing up media stations until they air  their complaints while they awaited additional information from the TSC director. Officials with the Teachers Service Commission are having restless nights about  these promises, unsure of what to do. Although they had earlier stated that additional 18,000 interns would be hired  before January, a new issue has emerged that calls for thoughtful consideration  and response to the current interns.
