Siaya County police are looking into an incident in which an unidentified individual entered a nearby catholic church and is reported to have urinated on a Jesus statue.
According to Cleti Kimaiyo, head of Siaya County police, the event took place in St. Andrew’s Bondo Catholic Church.

“Parish priest Rev. Father Edwin Obudho reported the horrific act at Bondo police station,” Kimaiyo stated.

Kimaiyo added that further reports indicate that the statue, which has been at the church altar, was reported missing.

“After examining the CCTV footage, it was determined that an unknown individual, clad in a black and white striped shirt and black pants, entered the church hall while several attendees were deeply engaged in prayer,” Kimaiyo continued.

It is then reported that the culprit went to the upper gallery, where he had concealed the statue. After that, he would go down to the altar and select the statue.

“After that, he pissed on the statue and left the church.” Under the pews, he concealed the vandalized statue, according to the authorities.

The suspect is still being sought after.
