A set of 22 students who did exceptionally well in the Kenya Certificates of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams in 2023 have been given scholarships worth Sh980 million.
The pupils were enrolled in a community-based educational program called Kenya Scholar Access Program (KenSAP).
For over six months, KenSAP provides a free residential university access program that teaches students the skills necessary to succeed at American institutions and walks them through the application process.
The colleges’ scholarship packages include a wide range of charges, such as tuition, living expenses, food, travel expenses, and other educational expenses.
KenSAP continues to offer students assistance, mentorship, and advice when they are enrolled in college.
With the help of this financial aid, the scholars will be able to concentrate on their studies without having to worry about money, which will enable them to properly integrate into their new learning environments.
Charles Field-Marsham, the Principal Benefactor and Chairman of KenSAP’s Board of Directors, remarked during a dinner event to honor the scholars, “KenSAP is a testament to our commitment to nurture the brightest minds in Kenya from disadvantaged backgrounds.”
“We are investing in the futures of these exceptional students, as well as the future of the country, and bringing brilliant Kenyan minds to places all across the world by giving them the resources they need.”
