TSC’s Next Promotions Will Benefit Less Successful Teachers

Subsequent TSC Promotions Will Benefit  Teachers Who Fail. The Teachers Service Commission (TSC)  revealed what would happen to  thousands of teachers around the country  who were waiting for promotions in  2024.

Some instructors will have to wait longer than expected to advance, according to  the commission.

Only 11,231 of the 28,681 teachers who requested promotions last year were  judged successful by the commission, according to a TSC research.

This suggests that the subsequent promotion cycle won’t begin until 2025, for  the 17,450 instructors who are still employed.

Teacher promotions happen once every three years, according to TSC.

Additionally, TSC follows the guidelines in its 2022/2023 Annual Report, which  offers a thorough assessment of the commission’s operations.

A synopsis of the main achievements, a list of challenges faced, a number of  recently discovered issues, and recommended remedies for the period are all  included in  the report.

According to this study, the commission employed 15,000 instructors total, both  on a permanent and pensionable basis.

It also employed 26,000 instructors as interns, of which 22,000 were assigned to  junior schools and 4,000 to primary schools.

The most instructors were hired by the commission in the previous year. This was an attempt to mitigate the scarcity resulting from the full switch.

This covers education from elementary through high school as well as the  complete implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

With the addition of the new instructors, the TSC Boss said that the total number  of teachers registered with the TSC is now 364,258.

She continued by stating that 8,367 teachers from primary schools have been  moved to JSS.

Retraining has been provided to a total of 55,125 teachers at junior secondary  schools (JSS) for CBC and 229,000 elementary school teachers. So far, the employer of the teachers has given it to them.

The study also shows how inadequate infrastructure and manpower contribute to  low ICT integration in instruction.

The committee is also addressing reports of mental health problems among instructors.

The findings of the 2023 December/January 2024 TSC promotions interviews  were recently sent to a number of educators who attended. Some, nevertheless, were prosperous, while others weren’t.

According to the commission, priority will be given to those who received letters  of regret. This will be included in the upcoming TC promotions.
