Students at the Multimedia University in Nairobi conducted protests a month ago when a student there was mauled by hyenas on his way home, sparking the current demonstrations at Meru National Polytechnic. The Magadi route, which connects Ongata Rongai and Nairobi, was closed by the students during their protests, and they even started bonfires.
