2024 KUCCPS Application; How to Apply

On Thursday, January 8, the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) launched an application portal for students wishing to apply to university and college degree, diploma, and certificate programs. Form four leavers from 2000 to 2022 will also be allowed to apply, however the application is primarily intended for Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) students in 2023.

According to KUCCPS, “students can be placed in universities, TVET institutions, Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), Teachers Training Colleges (TTCs), and Open University of Kenya (OUK) through the online KUCCPS application portal.”

How to Apply

The application process can be found on the student portal at  www.student.kuccps.net. The webpage will remain accessible until February 20, 2024, and students are  urged to apply as soon as possible.

Learners will be required to enter their password, KCSE Year, and KCSE Index Number while accessing the student portal. It is recommended that students set their first password to either their Birth Certificate Number or their KCPE Number (as used during KCSE Exam Registration).

Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) loans and government grants are available to 39 public universities. It’s noteworthy that HELB loans will be the sole options available to students who select courses offered at private colleges.

Government Scholarships and HELB loans are available to students who apply for diploma courses at any of the 237 public colleges, as per KUCCPS. KCSE students can enroll in courses leading to degrees, diplomas, certificates, and artisan (level 4 programs). Students who received a C+ or higher are the only ones eligible for the degree certificates.
