Kenyans can now obtain up to nine crucial judicial services at Huduma Centers, expanding the extensive list of public services available to them under one roof.The objective of this order is to enhance Kenyans’ access to justice as a component of the Judiciary’s overall plan.
All Kenyans will now have the ability to file for a civil lawsuit, get documents from an ongoing case, and obtain mention dates from all centers throughout the nation, according to a notice published by Huduma Kenya on January 29.
Six additional services will be piloted in GPO Nairobi, City Square, Makadara, Kibra, Eastleigh, and Thika Huduma Centers. The judiciary hopes to expand the service to various locations throughout the nation.The following procedures can now be used to open a new case at the closest center.
To file a plea, follow these steps at your nearest Huduma Centre:
Head to the Judiciary desk.Bring along a valid National Identification card or passport.Make sure you have a pre-prepared scanned pleading in PDF format.Have enough money with you to cover any fines, deposits and court fees.
Once you have presented all three documents, the service desk will create an e-filing account for you.If you already have an account, you’ll need to provide your password.The service desk will then book a case from your account and give you a case number.
The desk will also provide you the hearing date and URL if it’s a virtual case.Advocates and law company representatives can also be served by court registry workers at Huduma Center upon presentation of ID cards from their respective law firms or advocates.Moreover, Huduma Centers have previously included pension claims to their list of expanding services.
