Diploma Teacher Trainees In TTCs to Have Laptops
Diploma Teacher Trainees In TTCs to Have Laptops
In a memo to all diploma teacher training college principals, KNEC directed the trainee teachers to make sure they purchased a laptop so they could take this year’s exams.
For the laptop to be utilized in the online assessment tests, the Council has specified eight basic requirements. For many trainee teachers who are already dealing with fee arrears and other costs associated with the new training that was designed to fit the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC), this is a devastating blow.KNEC has given the student teachers until April 30, 2024, to obtain the devices, failing which they will not be allowed to take the certification exams.
Market signs suggest that the laptop needed by KNEC will be a refurbished device that would cost at least sh 24,000.This is an excessive expense, particularly for instructors who are upgrading to other teacher diploma programs. The circular that Knec CEO David Njengere wrote to all Diploma Teacher Training College principals is attached below.
