Chief Raises Ksh 56k for Student Who Missed Form 1 Admission

Kenyans hold Kabirer Chief Peter Kemboi of  Nandi County in high regard for his  selfless efforts in collecting money for Eliud  Kiplimo, a student in need who had  made a plea to join form one.

Kemboi, who was determined to assist the underprivileged pupil, used WhatsApp  to mobilize the neighborhood in support of the boy, who received a 362 on the  2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE).

Through his efforts, Kemboi was able to raise over Ksh56,000 which was enough to send Kiplimo, the top student in his primary school, to Meteitei Boys Secondary School on Tuesday.

According to the chief, the money will cover the student’s Form One school fees.Kemboi accompanied Kiplimo’s parents in a heartfelt moment to accept him  into the  institution.

Kiplimo’s parents, who had been having financial difficulties, expressed their  happiness at the turn of events. They disclosed that at first, they were afraid their child might have to repeat.

As a result, the chief has received recognition for stepping in and making sure the  student achieves his learning objectives. “We need good people like Chief; he’s done a terrific job. One person posted their opinions online and said, “All chiefs in the nation should  make sure kids are attending school. A Mombasa County well-wisher, moved by Kiplimo’s story, offered to help out by providing food for any  expenses that might not have been met by the money received.

A group of talented but financially disadvantaged pupils are gradually losing hope  of being accepted into their ideal schools as Form One students make the move.

In Kisumu, one such kid received 374 marks; since the government phased out the  8-4-4 school curriculum, the youngster was compelled to return to grade 6.

Luckily, he was saved by kind people who got him admission to Kanga High School. Not all students, meanwhile, are fortunate enough to receive money; the majority  are compelled to take on odd occupations.

In order to ensure that every student who took the Kenya Certificate of Primary  Education (KCPE) exams made the transfer to Form One 100% of the time,  Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang started a mop-up operation across the nation on Tuesday.
