Woman’s Naked Body is Found Tied up in Sack Inside River
In Kasarani, Nairobi County, a naked woman’s body was discovered discarded in a river on Saturday.
The woman’s body was discovered with her arms and legs bound together, concealed in a sack, per a police report.
She had stab wounds on her neck believed to have been inflicted before she was tossed into the river flowing through Lucky Summer.
Police first retrieved the sack that first appeared to be dumped luggage only to discover the lifeless body of the woman. Her body was transported to the City Mortuary awaiting a post-mortem.
Additionally, the detectives took her fingerprints to help with the identification process.
Police have called upon Kenyans with any information on the incident to present themselves at the local police station.
Families who had lost a relative were also encouraged to come to the City Mortuary in order to assist with the victim’s identification.
Investigations are still underway, and this occurrence is only one of the many unexplained killings in Kasarani that have been recorded.
Concerns were sparked in 2023 by a number of murder cases that were recorded in Kasarani, as several Kenyans suspected local police authorities of hiding some of the murders.
The increasing crime rate in the area led to Inspector Japhet Koome issuing a statement, revealing that investigations were underway.
“When anyone dies, we identify it as sudden death under the Criminal Procedure Code. The police then start an inquiry to determine whether it is murder or suicide,” he stated in March 2023.
Koome further revealed that any police officer found guilty of covering up any incident would be charged.
