Mwangaza’s Meru home is surrounded by police officers
The official mansion of Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza, located in Milimani Estate, Meru town, has been blocked off by police officials.According to a person with knowledge of the situation, the detectives drove Landrovers, Double Cabins, and Subarus when they arrived at Mwangaza’s house around 1:00 pm.
A little while later, they cordoned off the whole area while forensics team members examined the surrounding area.Journalists were asked to remain at least 200 meters away from the area, but the investigators refused them access.
It’s unknown if the investigations have anything to do with Meru blogger Daniel Muthiani, also known as Sniper, being killed.Additionally, the source did not say if Mwangaza was at her house when the procedure was performed.
The assassination of the Meru blogger has garnered national attention, with prominent politicians urging investigators to apprehend the culprits as soon as possible. Five people were taken into custody on Thursday in relation to the blogger’s slaying. The suspects are thought to have enticed Sniper with a promise to set up a meeting with the county head, presumably to put an end to the animosity between the two, according to a court case the investigating officer filed. Sniper was a harsh critic of Meru’s leadership prior to his death.
It is reported that the blogger disappeared after meeting the suspects in Meru town. Sniper’s body was discovered near Mutonga River a few days later. The investigating officer requested 21 days in the court document to conduct additional investigations into the suspects. “The suspects have to undergo formal police procedures which include but are not limited to recording statements, interrogation and subjecting them to mental assessment among other actions,” the officer said in the court filing.
