Political allies led by President William  Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi  Gachagua raised funds for a charity  headed by Kikuyu Member of Parliament  Kimani Ichung’wah.

Thursday marked the Kikuyu Constituency Education Foundation’s (KICE) tenth  anniversary in Ichung’wah.

In order to help more than 300 students in his area with their studies, he  established an endowment fund.

“We are immensely grateful for the overwhelming support and generosity shown towards the KICE Foundation as we celebrated a remarkable milestone of a decade dedicated to transforming lives and nurturing dreams within our community,” Ichung’wah stated.

“With the collaborative efforts of our friends and partners, over Ksh100 million was raised, a testament to our collective belief in providing opportunities for those in need. We extend heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to the success of last night’s event,” he further clarified.

The MP was a patron of the foundation, which on its first day of operation got a  one-time donation. The lawmakers promised to generate more money to support  education initiatives in the constituency.

“Together, we continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of many,  fostering a brighter and more inclusive future for all,” Ichung’wah said.

However, the amount that each politician donated to the organization has not yet  been made public.

Along with other prominent figures, Ruto and Gachagua were accompanied by  Cabinet Secretary for Education Ezekiel Machogu as well as his colleagues in  Defense and Public Service, Aden Duale and Moses Kuria, respectively.

During the Samidoh Foundation’s debut a week ago, President William Ruto and  DP Rigathi Gachagua raised over Ksh8.8 million for vernacular artist Samuel  Muchoki Ndirangu, also known as Samidoh.

The Foundation, which aims to empower boy children and give back to the least  fortunate in society, was officially launched on December 1 at Parklands Sports  Club in Nairobi. Gachagua praised Samidoh for the initiative.
