On Monday, city lawyer Danstan Omari issued a warning, stating that President William Ruto’s legacy will be marred by a high rate of corruption lest he fixes every loophole used to steal taxpayer’s money.

In an interview with the media, Omari asserted that Ruto was a more capable leader than the late President Mwai Kibaki, revitalizing and expanding the nation’s economy. But he was supposedly surrounded by politicians who wanted to further their own agendas.

The president said, “If indeed the president wants to compare himself to the late Kibaki, I’ll tell everybody for free the president is far much better than Kibaki,” but he offered no evidence to support his assertion. However, he issued a warning that officials were embezzling money obtained from the higher levies.

Omari urged Ruto to bring all of the guilty parties to justice so that Kenyans would receive a fair share of the country’s higher taxes. He also emphasized that Ruto would surpass his predecessors if he implemented better systems.Nothing is being taken under President William Ruto’s supervision, not even money. The inconsistency is this. Omari grumbled, “We are overtaxed, but this money is disappearing.”

Additionally, he demanded that the thieves who are hidden inside the government be apprehended right now, claiming that they outweigh the tax collectors. He restated that the president has received large loans and aid from international investors, funds that could be misused if they are not safeguarded.

Omari urged investigating bodies like the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to stop the vice from spreading by advising them to stop the threat at its source rather than acting in a reactive manner.

“The diaspora is contributing a staggering amount of money. The fact that money isn’t going into the consolidated fund is the sole issue. People are keeping it in their pockets,” he said.He brought up multibillion-dollar scandals that had shook the nation and destroyed its economy.

Ruto had already promised to hold accountable anyone who stole public funds in order to protect the money obtained from Kenyan citizens. Through Felix Koskei, his chief of staff, Ruto suspended a number of police officers and government officials in November on charges of corruption.

The head of state was up against fierce resistance from lawmakers he had prohibited from obtaining contracts through illegitimate means, according to his economic adviser, David Ndii.
