In the Kamuli area, a 40-year-old man has been taken into custody on charges of defiling his twin daughters, who are nine years old, as part of a ceremony meant to bring him quick fortune.
Silver Kadhumbula, a resident of Namwendwa town council’s Ndaliike village, was taken into custody by police after receiving a tip from his spouse, who informed local authorities about the unsettling event. The wife, whose name is not disclosed, disclosed that Kadhumbula often left the other children in the garden while she worked alone with the twin daughters.
As their biological father, there were initially no concerns of inappropriate behavior. She related an earlier occurrence in which she caught Kadhumbula in bed with the twins when she unexpectedly arrived home to obtain drinking water. They said he was soothing them to sleep and explaining that they weren’t feeling well.
But when the wife noticed that Kadhumbula was acting strangely, she informed her in-laws, who advised him. She made the decision to alert local authorities to the acts in order to get them to stop. Kadhumbula, who is being held at the Namwendwa police station, stated that he was led to a shrine by a wealthy friend in the Kamuli municipality.
“One of my childhood friends is enviably wealthy and when I approached him to advise me on how best I can create wealth, he led me to a shrine, where the ritualist directed me to defile my twin daughters,” stated the man.
He explained his conduct by claiming that twins have the ability to create money in a supernatural way and that having sex with them will bring wealth to the whole family.
Kadhumbula stated the conviction that these rituals would provide rewards, such as bountiful harvests, which would allow him to purchase a car, construct a huge house, and give his children contemporary education, even if he did not define the duration of this bad practice.
Following allegations of Kadhumbula’s strange behavior, Pius Mugweri, the chairperson of Namwendwa town council LC III, notified police investigators to conduct a comprehensive investigation. Mugweri drew attention to the community’s pervasive superstitious beliefs, which associated occult practices with riches and health.
Sowedi Nuwagaba, the officer in charge of the Namwendwa police station, verified the occurrence and said Kadhumbula is accused of child abuse and aggravated defilement.
Nuwagaba stated that the victims had confirmed sexual penetration through statements they had made and medical exams they had had. In order to determine Kadhumbula’s mental state in relation to the cases against him, additional inquiries include a thorough psychiatric examination.
