KNEC Be Held Accountable For KCPE Results Irregularities
Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) officials in Kisumu now want full accountability for the disparities in the recently issued Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results. This is according to KNUT officials in Kisumu.
Executive Secretary David Obuon of the Kisumu chapter said that KNEC CEO Dr. David Njengere bears full responsibility for the incident and needs to explain it to Kenyans. According to Obuon, the errors have affected the future of numerous students.
“The SMS access to the results was delayed by three hours after the results were made public. Will parents receive a reimbursement for the funds they spent even when no results were obtained? Who is going to reimburse them? In a press conference on Saturday, Obuon posed. He stated that KNEC is the only organization accountable for the irregularities and that CEO Njengere of KNEC should not shift the blame to the SMS service providers.
“We won’t be taking them lightly anymore; someone must be dozing off at work. Who is this?”It took years to study for the exams, according to Obuon, who also stated that the mistakes in the awards made are unacceptable and that someone needs to step up and address the challenging questions.
“We demand that KNEC release their moderation formula to the public.” We are interested in finding out why kids at certain schools receive the same grades in certain areas. Children have received 3% in social studies at certain schools. Where on earth is that possible to occur? Obuon asked further questions.
KNEC acknowledged the inconsistencies in the recently released 2023 examinations that some applicants had reported in a previous statement. The Ministry of Education issued the short code 40054, and the council reported that it had received objections regarding several inaccuracies in the findings.
