On November 23, 2023, at KNEC’s New Mitihani House, Education PS Belio Kipsang and CEO Dr. David Njeng’ere made an announcement regarding the results of the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination.
Dr. Njeng’ere clarified that the KCPE marking had to be prioritized in order to guarantee Form 1 placements before Christmas so that preparations could be completed on time, even if the marking of the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) exams are still ongoing.
1,282,574 candidates in all took part in the KPSEA exams. Results from the KPSEA will be made public prior to the start of junior secondary school, Dr. Njeng’ere promised.
He described how the findings would be shown in three reports: one for each learner, one for each school, and one for the country on school-based
It is anticipated that the national report would pinpoint areas in need of support and include data on the quantity of students in need of intervention at each topic’s performance level.
The personalized school report will be designed to draw attention to certain student problem areas and pinpoint places where schools might want more assistance.
