Pictures from the collision revealed that the cockpit had collapsed and the helicopter’s body had sustained significant damage. After the collision, the rotor and its rotating wings—which allow a helicopter to lift above the ground—were also shattered.

Police have begun investigating the crash, but the cause has not yet been determined.In another incident, an unidentified attacker ambushed a police officer in Siaya while he was escorting KCSE exam materials. The officer was then shot and killed.While transporting exam papers to Mahero Secondary School, the officer was attacked together with a colleague and another exam official.After suffering injuries, the other officer was sent to the Siaya Teaching and Referral Hospital, where he had medical attention.
The MP5 and AK-47 that belonged to the officer were taken by the thugs. A police report that was acquired stated, in part, that “officers are investigating the crime.”In addition, a manhunt has been initiated by the police for the attacker who is still at large.
