The public was notified on Monday by the Public Service Commission (PSC) that the employment portal of the organization had failed.PSC asked job hunters to be patient while technicians worked to make sure the portal was restored as soon as possible in a statement.
“The commission website is currently down and our ICT experts are doing their best to restore the system. We apologize for the inconveniences caused,” the commission stated.
In light of this change, PSC offered job applicants the option to submit their applications online at pscims.publicservice.go.ke/jobs/.Kenyans can apply for government employment using a secure aggregated channel that is provided by the web portal, which is a strategic platform. While some Kenyans were waiting to be selected for jobs, some requested PSC to expedite the restoration.
Others lamented that the site had been down for over two weeks. A section of Kenyans stated that despite lodging complaints, they had not been responded to while others claimed that their requests had been ignored.Meanwhile, others accused the commission of a lack of transparency when it came to job listings.”What happened to some job advertisements, no shortlisting up to date,” one person remarked.
Furthermore, some Kenyans questioned why the system crashed just hours before a few job applications were due.Additionally, the commission was charged with managing government positions in an opaque manner.
