OAU lecturer Ojediran slumps, dies
A lecturer in the Faculty of Education at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Dr Ayo Ojediran, has slumped and died in his office.
The incident occurred on Tuesday. Students of the school have mourned the demise of the 52-year-old lecturer.
The Public Relations Officer of the University, Abiodun Olarewaju, said the death of the lecturer was an unpalatable incident.
He characterized the dead as a deeply kind and modest man who was always ready to lend a hand. “Dr. Ojediran Isaac Ayodele, may your soul rest in perfect peace,” he remarked.
Victor Adesokan, President of the Faculty of Education Students Association of Nigeria, was with Ojediran the night before he passed away, according to a Punch report. According to Adesokan, the deceased reported having a headache and thought the lecturer was quite frail.
He reported experiencing tension and a headache on Monday evening. He should rest, we said. There is too much work for these lecturers. More lecturers are needed at the institution, particularly in the Faculty of Education. He stated, “For instance, a lecturer who was meant to be a level adviser is now handling the workload of six or seven lecturers.”
