Two GSU officers killed,Heading to Man KCPE Exams in Garissa
On Monday, a car carrying two General Service Unit (GSU) officers struck an improvised explosive device (IED), resulting in the deaths of at least two of them. According to reports, the cops were traveling to Garissa with the intention of supplying protection to applicants taking the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE).
Injured cops were hurried to Dadaab Hospital for immediate medical attention. The incident happened at the Ege Dam on the Dadaab-Garissa road, and some of the officers are seriously injured.
The impact of the collision caused damage to the front of the car. Al Shabaab terrorists who have carried out strikes in the country’s north are suspected of planting the IED.
Numerous innocent Kenyans have died as a result of widespread Al Shabaab strikes in the north. The administration has promised to put an end to the attacks and hold those responsible for them accountable through Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki and his Defense colleague, Aden Duale.
Kindiki released the identities and images of the 35 most wanted terrorists who had carried out numerous attacks in Kenya in October. While everything is going on, the nation is facing a number of difficulties, particularly in certain locations where severe rains have made it difficult to deliver exam materials.
On Monday, Ezekiel Machogu, the cabinet secretary for education, and President William Ruto visited a school in Kiambu County to offer prayers for the students before their examinations. “Exert yourself and do your hardest. As you proceed to the next round, conduct the exam with the knowledge that every child in Kenya has an opportunity,” said Ruto.
