Jobs for Graduate Trainees Announced by KRA

As part of their Graduate Trainee (GT) Program, the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)  recently announced opportunities for graduate trainees with the goal of developing  them into specialists in tax administration. The program focuses on hiring people with high integrity from reputable  universities who have graduated from college and are under 28 years old.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum mean grade of C+ in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent, with a C+ or above in English and Mathematics, to be eligible for these posts. Essential qualifications include mastery of the Microsoft Office Suite and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Candidates must also submit copies of documents like the KRA PIN certificate,  National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), National Social Security Fund (NSSF), and  identity cards as well as current certificates of good conduct. The closing date for applications is this Sunday, October 29, 2023.

KRA has sent more than 1,400 officers with paramilitary training to the field and  marketplaces in an effort to improve tax compliance. After completing a two-month training program, these officers will work as revenue service assistants,  aiding with online company registration and checking taxpayer information.

Following the enactment of the Finance Act 2023, which introduced a number of new levies, KRA has set an ambitious aim of collecting KSh 2.7 trillion in tax revenue in the 2023–2024 fiscal year.
