Every participant in the Junior School trainings will get reimbursement for travel costs to and from the trainings, up to a maximum of 1000 CSO and 800 teachers shillings, in accordance with the going rates.Every school that is participating in the teacher trailer exercise has sent all of its freshly hired JSS teachers.
The aforementioned significant national activity aims to prepare secondary school teachers for the full implementation of the new CBC curriculum in junior secondary schools. The current sixth-graders began junior secondary school in January 2023.
The set travel allowances compensation and meal rates for Curriculum Support Officers (CSOs), teachers, and headteachers attending the course have been made available by Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Every teacher who attends this program will be paid for travel costs to and from as determined by current rates, up to a maximum of 1000 CSOs and 800 champions shillings. The commission has stated that training institutions are expected to provide a venue, meals, and stationery for 400 shillings each day for three days.
Every teacher will receive a daily reimbursement of 300 Shillings to cover travel costs, and each CSO and CBC champion will receive a daily facilitation allowance of 1000 Shillings for five days. In addition, common lunch will be provided for all participants and facilitators at a cost of 400 Shillings per day for five days, and an additional 100 Shillings per participant will be used for stationary.
