Price drops for petrol, diesel, and kerosene on Tuesday
The most recent study shows a Sh1 decrease in fuel prices. The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) said as much in a statement on Monday. A litre of Super Petrol, fuel, and kerosene will now cost more money. Super gasoline will now be sold for Sh177.30 a liter, diesel for Sh162 and kerosene for Sh145.94. “The prices are inclusive of the 8 per cent VAT in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2018, the Tax Laws Act 2020 and the revised rates for excise duty adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No 194 of 2020,” the statement continues.
On November 15, 2018, the new fuel prices will go into effect through December 14, 2022.The average landed price of imported super gasoline, according to EPRA, dropped from Sh88,520.59 per cubic meter in September to Sh83,560.89 in October, a 5.60% decrease. Diesel prices dropped from Sh107,727.23 in September to Sh105,212.06 in October, a 2.33 percent decrease.
Kerosene’s price per cubic meter fell by 9.08% from Sh107,576.20 in September to Sh97,812.71 in October.The latest assessment was released on October 14, one month after the EPRA announced a little decrease in fuel prices of Sh1.
