Ruto Reshuffles Cabinet

In the most recent Cabinet change, President William Ruto moved Cabinet  Secretaries Moses Kuria, Alfred Mutua, and Alice Wahome from the Trade, Foreign  Affairs, and Water ministries. Ruto reassigned the CSs while giving Musalia Mudavadi, the prime cabinet  secretary, more authority.

Mudavadi kept his job as prime cabinet secretary but was also given the responsibility of handling foreign and diaspora affairs, which had previously been handled by Alfred Mutua. Peninah Malonza, who formerly occupied Alfred Mutua’s position at the Ministry of Tourism & Wildlife, was transferred to the Ministry of the East African Community (EAC). CS Kuria relinquished control of the Trade docket to Rebecca Miano, the former East African Community CS. Kuria was transferred to the Ministry of Public Service previously held by Aisha Jumwa.

The Ministry of Gender, Culture, the Arts & Heritage became Jumwa’s new docket. Alice Wahome was transferred from the Water docket to the Ministry of Lands Public Works & Urban Housing. Former Lands CS Zachariah Njeru was promoted to Wahome Alice’s position as Minister of Water & Sanitation.His excellence. The Executive has been reformed by THE PRESIDENT in accordance with the presidential authority granted to the Head of State and Government pursuant to Article 132 of the Constitution.

“Changes have been made to the portfolio mandates of Ministries and State Departments as a result of the Presidential order. The circular addressed to and signed by Felix Koskei, the Chief of Staff, stated that the Head of State and Government’s Executive Action realigned Ministries, State Departments, and Kenya’s Foreign Service to optimize performance and enhance service delivery as outlined in the Administration’s Manifesto under the Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda. The Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs was included to the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary’s extended portfolio scope.

The Ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management was formed  by Ruto and replaced the Ministry of Public Service, Gender and Affirmative Action. The Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife has replaced the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife  and Heritage. The Ministry of Youth Affairs, Arts, and Sports has been renamed to the Ministry of  Youth Affairs and Sports by Ruto. Additionally, he created the Ministry of Gender, Culture, the Arts, and Heritage, a new ministerial responsibility.

The Ministry of Public Service, Performance Management and Delivery acquired the  State Department for Performance and Delivery Management. The Ministry of Gender, Culture, Arts, and Heritage now houses the State  Department for Culture, the Arts, and Heritage, which was previously known as the  State Department for Culture and Heritage. The Ministry of Gender, Culture, the Arts and Heritage now houses the State  Department for Gender and Affirmative Action. Additionally, Ruto reorganized the Principal Secretaries (PSs), appointed  ambassadors, deputy ambassadors, and a spokesperson for the government with  two assistants.
