KNEC Releases New Payment Rates for Professionals on Contract
New payment methods for teachers who are registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) were established by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) in 2023.
They are urged to sign up for the Contracted Professionals platform, often known as CP2, immediately.
During national exams, KNEC’s platform is essential for deploying contracted personnel like teachers, security guards, and transportation.
Teachers from nursery, primary, and secondary schools will be extremely important for this year’s exams. Once the tests are finished and the results are made public, KNEC will be able to effectively deploy and pay these teachers thanks to the information they provide on CP2.
About 2.3 million students will be completing the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams this year. Additionaly ,KNEC has certified that they are prepared to take the national exams. More specifically, there will be roughly 1,415,315 candidates for the KCPE exam and another 903,260 for the KCSE exam.
The start of the preparations for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) for 1,282,574 children in Grade Six . Has also been announced by KNEC Chief Executive David Njengere.
To prevent cheating on this year’s national exams, KNEC has suggested stronger security measures in addition to payment changes.
Notably, only the morning examination papers will now be chosen by center administrators, who are frequently school principals. Examiners will no longer receive all exam papers in the morning.
Additionally, KNEC has increased the number of containers it has in its examination storage facilities, which will hasten the distribution and paper selection processes.
Some of the adjustments that will be made to national tests during the next month are represented by these measures.
After finishing their morning papers, candidates will place them back in the container. The afternoon papers will then be distributed.
